Multi-Room Surveillance
Monitor up to 13 grow rooms with the Carbon-X system. Set high and low CO₂ alarm limits to help keep your facility safe and compliant.

Safety Alerts

Audiovisual Alarm System
Protect your team with AS Series alarm stations. Color-coded LED indicators and digital CO₂ readings provide clear local alerts, showing when it’s safe to enter each monitored area.

Emergency Control

Auto-Shutdown & Ventilation
The CDA-1 automatically shuts off CO₂ supply and activates exhaust fans and dampers when unsafe CO₂ levels are detected, helping protect personnel.

Facility Integration

Fire Alarm & App Connectivity
The Carbon-X integrates with your facility’s fire alarm system and provides 24/7 remote monitoring with instant alerts through the free TrolMaster app.

Complete Sensor Support

Total Visibility Across All Zones

“Integrate Specialized Monitors and Emergency Controls into One Centralized Ecosystem.”

  • Precision CO2 Monitoring: The MBS-K30 sensor utilizes NDIR technology in a self-aspirated enclosure to constantly measure CO2 levels from 0 to 30,000 ppm.

  • Audio-Visual Alarms: Trigger AS-series audio-visual alarms (AS-1, AS-2, AS-3, AS-4, AS-5) featuring multiple LED strobe colors (red, amber, blue) to meet varying municipal visual code requirements. Alarms can be mounted both inside and outside the grow room.

  • Master Alarm Capability: Create a “master” alarm setup where if ANY monitored room exceeds safe CO2 levels, the master alarm and central CO2 shut-off are instantly activated

AL1 /AL2 Line

The MBS-K30 CO2 sensor, designed for the Carbon-X CO2 Alarm System, monitors CO2 up to 30,000 ppm using NDIR technology. Mounted 12-18 inches from the floor, it displays current ppm on its LCD or a CDA-1 controller. The Carbon-X system supports one or two MBS-K30 sensors per zone across up to 13 zones. If CO2 exceeds a user-defined threshold, the CDA-1 controller initiates safety measures: audible/visible alarms (AS-1 to AS-5), CO2 supply shut-off (DSE-1), ventilation fan activation (DSC-1), and interface with building alarms (DSD-1), ensuring CO2 levels remain below 5000ppm to comply with regulations.

Device Line

AS-1 through AS-5 audible-visual alarm stations provide instant CO₂ hazard alerts for the Carbon-X CO₂ Alarm System. Connected via RJ12 through the SPH-1 Powered Splitter Hub, they deliver high-visibility visual indicators and 85–100 dB audible alarms when CO₂ levels exceed preset safety thresholds. Select models also feature LCD status displays and color-coded LED indicators for quick status recognition.

Audible and Visible Alarm

Device Line

DSE-1, DSC-1, DSD-1, OM-8, and DCC-2 expand the Carbon-X CO₂ Alarm System with advanced safety and device control. They can shut off CO₂, activate ventilation, interface with building alarm systems, and control external equipment through dry contacts. The DCC-2 also enables compatible modules to operate with both Hydro-X and Carbon-X systems for flexible, integrated control.

      FAQ

What is the Carbon-X (CDA-1) system?

The Carbon-X system is designed to protect customers and workers near commercial indoor growing areas that use supplemental CO2, satisfying local and state regulations. It is a life-safety CO2 system that constantly measures CO2 levels and safely alerts personnel to dangerously high levels.

How many zones can the Carbon-X system monitor?

The system provides critical monitoring of CO2 levels for up to 13 separate zones or rooms.

What actions does the Carbon-X system take if unsafe CO2 levels are detected?

If high CO2 levels are detected, the system can automatically shut down the CO2 flow by de-energizing the main solenoid. It can also vent the area by activating exhaust fans or dampers, trigger audio-visual alarm stations, and send an emergency signal to a fire alarm panel.

What CO2 sensor is used with the system, and where should it be installed?

The system uses the MBS-K30 CO2 sensor, which features NDIR technology to precisely measure CO2 levels up to 30,000 ppm. Each monitored room needs at least one sensor installed, and it must be mounted between 12 and 18 inches from the floor level.

How are sensors and device stations connected to the main controller?

Sensors and device stations are "daisy-chained" together using standard "straight-through" RJ12 cables and splitters. Most sensors and alarm stations must be connected to a powered splitter hub (SPH-1) before being connected to the main system. It is highly important to use straight-through cables, as improper reverse cable configurations will permanently damage the units.

How many devices and sensors can the Carbon-X control?

The system can control up to 40 device stations in total. Additionally, it can support a maximum of 13 sensors per alarm channel.

Can I monitor the Carbon-X system remotely?

Yes, you can use TrolMaster’s free smartphone app for remote monitoring, adjusting settings, and receiving push alert notifications. To link the controller to the app, the CDA-1 must be connected directly to your internet router using a CAT 5/6 cable.

What are the high and low-level CO2 alarm thresholds?

The system features two user-adjustable alarm levels to meet different local regulations. The low-level Alarm-1 limit ranges from 3,000 to 15,000 PPM, while the high-level Alarm-2 limit ranges from 15,000 to 30,000 PPM.
